16/2/01 - Candle Odyssey Concerts wind up at the Metro
The candle odyssey concerts concluded at the Metro. Darren played a half hour set which everyone seemed pretty impressed with. He played three new songs! The range of issues covered by these new ones included pinballing, bicycle kickstands and secret joy at ex-partners horse-riding accidents.
16/2/01 - Darren plays live on JJJ, Plastic room
Darren played live on JJJ today. He played "Falling Aeroplanes" and one of his new songs which we'll call "Cast of Thousands" for the moment. The session sounded pretty great so I hope you all heard it. (it's really the kind of thing I should be announcing on here a bit earlier. Whoops.)
15/2/01 - Augie March Tour Announced
Candle have announced that Darren's been asked to support Augie March on their National Tour in March/April. The tour will be going to Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra, Adelaide and WA. Check out the Touring page (click on the bus) for the dates soon. Darren also mentioned it on his JJJ plastic room session.
15/2/01 'Falling Aeroplanes' and 'Early Days' still ripping it in
Falling Aeroplanes has been in JJJ’s internet request show in the last 3 weeks. It started at No.50 and now it’s No.33. ‘Early Days’ has been in the AIR Independent Charts now for a month and this week it’s No.3
2/1/01 - Full Length Album on the way.
Darren mentioned in his JJJ interview that he'll soon be putting out an LP! I wonder how far away it is. It's been reported on the site now, so he'd better get cracking.
2/1/01 - Early Days Goes Good!
Candle records mentioned recently that Darren's Early Days EP was no.2 on the Independent Australian music charts! Huzzah!
2/1/01 - Darren Oz Music Show repeated Sunday arvo!
Well, Darren was interviewed on the Oz Music Show on Wednesday night. For those of you who missed it, it'll be repeated in Richard Kingsmill's show on Sunday arvo, from 3. Maybe I'll put MP3's of the interview up as well, if anyone especially wants me to.
17/1/01 - Darren to play on Oz Music Show!
Candle records has informed us that Darren will be talking and performing on JJJ's Oz Music show on Wednesday 31 January. Oz Music show begins at 10pm. Everyone should check it out.
12/1/01 - Triple J say "falling aeroplanes" is tops!
Triple J are playing "Falling Aeroplanes" all the time. Everyone seems to love it. Good stuff. It's a bloody great song after all.
