Mystery Lyrics

Biography/Discography

Well, I've got a good idea of most of Darren's lyrics. There's a couple of utter stumpers though where the only words I think they might be sound ridiculous and are definitely wrong. Who can solve these mysteries for me? Prizes are eternal gratitude and good will from me. Just have a guess if you like; yours won't be stupider than mine.

*Well actually the first two mysteries were instantly solved as soon as the website went up. Congratualtions and thanks to Alistair Millard for the "Danielle" solution. (I think it's right - does anyone disagree?).

Good on you Erin Lewis for helping me on the Falling Aeroplanes lyric (everyone in the world seemed to know this one except me).

There'll be some new Lyric mysteries up here soon, no doubt, as I write out the rest of the songs and judging by my hopeless ear.

Mystery one: Danielle - From the Simpletons "light a candle" EP (*SOLVED*)

I remember seeing you for the first time, in grade one

You had your hair in pigtails; mine was cut with a basin

It was St Patrick's on the hill. Our parents DID ENLIST <--- these were the tricky words

When you first spoke to me I nearly choked on my jam sandwich

Mystery Two: Falling Aeroplanes - From "Early Days" EP (*SOLVED*)

Then girl said : "boy, don't be so stupid

Boy, don't be so daft

You're not even RIGHT BY A HALF <-- these were the tricky words

Although you say your songs are fundamentally air

There's also thousands of vibrations that stimulate the ear..
