Hopefully I'll tab the rest of the songs soon... I've only just started on these ones (plus I'm missing my CD's right now. Can't do this so well from memory..) *Fun Park Fugitives (from "Banter" compilation) *Darren Hanlon Tabbed by Matt G (gewsh@hotmail.com) please email me comments, suggestions, corrections etc! Notes: You might want to play some of the chords with the e and b strings left open for that nice dreamy kind of sound. Also it sounds like the 6th string bass notes might be held on some of the string 5 root chords (if you know what I mean). Most of the chords are bar chords played up the neck apart from a couple in the bridge and stuff. Anyway, what a lovely song eh? One of my favourites. Hope this helps; it's somewhere in the ballpark of how to play it I hope. Cheers. She wants to sacrifice her Summer with me Let's start the car and head for the Fun Parks We don't pay admission, we're sneaking in Hold on the A and alternate the bass between A and E a few times by taking your finger on and off the 6th string at the 5th fret. Notes: I haven't finished this tab. I haven't tabbed the lead and I probably haven't done the bridge (the "gerl germs" bit) properly. Basically though I think it's something like this: D, G, Bm, A for all the verse.. I remember seeing you for the first time In grade one You had your hair in pigtails Mine was cut with a basin It was Saint Patrick's on the hill Our parents did enlist When you first spoke to me I nearly choked on my jam sandwich Em G You were the dux and I was the dunce A Em I thought all my little lunches D G A Had come at once D G A Daniell el el D G A Daniel el el D A Em G Our conversations were dictated by the bell D G A Danielle back to D G Bm A for next verse We did the progressive barn dance At the Primary School Ball Armed with two clammy hands and a pair of left feet I circled the Science Hall The chance for me to ask you to be My friend would soon be gone By the time I plucked up my courage Bm A Em I heard a voice say "Pass your partners on" G I'm now inclined to say A Em D G A That like my asthma, you took my breath away. (same as last chorus) Danielle, Danielle My palms were as sweaty as hell Danielle Bm F#m But I guess in those days Em G D? You had to be careful of getting girl germs Bm F#m Em If a girl tried to hold my hand I'd probably panic G A And give her a Chinese Burn (back to D G Bm A) And so the years rolled by and didn't seem to stop Our milk containers were exchanged for bottles of Passion Pop Our friends would help us drink them down the park in the trees Our nights at the Railway Hotel are still so clear in my memory Memory, memory (same chords as earlier, only quieter) And I remember your birthday - 21 years I didn't turn up just because I heard your Dad Was putting on free beer. We gathered there your friends and me to sing To sing: Danielle, Danielle We wish you well Danielle A 21 years, 21 years D 21 years old. *Punk's Not Dead* Tabbed by Matt G (gewsh@hotmail.com) please email me comments, suggestions, corrections etc! Notes: This is a pretty standard progression. You might want to capo, say, the fourth fret and them you could play D, G, A as the main chords. It's better as bar chords and no capo though (which is how Daz plays it too, then you can do the mutey rhthym and the E F F# fast bit properly. Just have a listen to the song for the rhthym and feel of it and stuff. I tabbed this from the live Toronto concert and watched him play it in Sydney. Intro F# B F# She answered our ad wanted C# We had a vacancy F# She didn't know what was in store B C# But we were soon to see F# Now she plays records of The Foreskins (insert band name here) C# At any given hour F# She turns on the hot water tap B C# While I'm in the shower G#(m) And at night the house is quiet G# You might wonder why... Just do 6th string bar E F E# x3 chords E F F# it's pretty easy. The first one goes F then F# though) (same progression for next verses and chorus) (rhthym changes at end and ending is slightly different but nothing tricky) I couldn't give a fuck about The friends of mine she'll scare Some people just can't see past studs And bleach-blonde spiky hair I say "A for Abba" She says "A for Anarchy" In the morning she says "Never mind the Bollocks, "Here's your cup of tea" And at night the house is quiet You might wonder why... Chords are relative to capo. There's a fair bit of room for mucking around on the little transitions and the break etc. Basically the transitions are going down the G scale (relative to capo) from the C or D note (on the b string) and finishing with the little bass run back up to G. You'll hear it on the recording hopefully and I'll tryto explain it better in a minute. Capo 7 Verse Progression G, G/F# Like so: e------3-3-x lots-----0-0-x-lots------- b------3-3------------3-3-------------- g------0-0------------0-0-------------- D-------------------------------------- A-------------------------------------- E--3-3------------2-2------------------ You'll have to listen to the rhythym. Don't worry too much about exactly what G shape you hold on the top strings. Next bit: ("call it coincidence...") C, D, C, D, C* The last C is held and hammers from Cmaj7 to C before entering the transition back to G. Hold the C chord (or the C bass note) and strum 3 little quick strums for each note. Try and move down the scale. The important sound is the transition down the scale, you don't have to play all the strings, just get the strumming right, emphasise the scale notes and it should sound good: like this e----------------------------------- b--1-0-0-0-0-0-0---------------------------- g--0-0-2-0-0-0-0-------------------------- D--2-2-0-0-2-0-0--------------------------- A--3-3-3-3-3-3-2-0-------------------------- E----------------0-2---back to verse progression- When the little solo comes you do something similar to this: e----------0-0-2-0----------------- b----------0-0-2-0-3--------------- g------------------0--------------- D--0-0-0-----------0--------------- x3 A--2-2-2-----------2--------2-2-2-- E--3-3-3-----------0--2-2-2-3-3-3-- then the last time go: e----------------------- b---------3-1-0------------- g---------0-0-0-2-0------- D--0-0-0--------0-0-2-0--- A--2-2-2----------------3-2-0 E--3-3-3----------------------0-2-3 back to verse rhthym this is very vague - you can play anything almost around the G-chord scaly thing. Um, just try and keep the rhythm right. Um, you'll have to listen to it I s'pose.
